Feature launches and release notes #
A changelog entry with a 30-second video gets read; a paragraph alone gets skimmed. The catch is that features ship faster than anyone can record them.
How to do it: right after merging, ask your AI agent to "record a 2-scene demo of the new export button on localhost:3000", or paste your staging URL into DemoReady with the story "show exporting a report as CSV". Embed the MP4 in your changelog, release email and social post.
Tip: keep release videos to 2–4 scenes and one idea. Use a spotlight or callout on the new element so returning users spot what changed.
Landing page and homepage videos #
Visitors decide in seconds whether your product is for them. A short walkthrough above the fold answers "what does it actually look like?" faster than any screenshot.
How to do it: pick the story that shows your core value in under a minute, such as "create a project, add a task, see the dashboard update". Turn on voice-over and set your brand color so captions match your site.
Tip: because the video is generated from a script, re-record it whenever the UI changes instead of living with an outdated hero video.
Onboarding and help documentation #
Every help article that says "click Settings, then Integrations" is easier to follow as a 20-second clip. Writing those clips by hand for every task is why most help centers don't have them.
How to do it: make one short demo per task: "connect Slack", "invite a teammate", "change billing details". Use the relaxed pace so new users can follow along, and spell out each step in the captions.
Tip: demos run against the live app, so use a dedicated demo workspace with realistic sample data. Everything typed appears in the video.
Sales demos and prospect follow-ups #
A tailored demo that shows a prospect their own use case lands better than a generic product tour, and it can be sent before the first call.
How to do it: describe the prospect's workflow as the story ("a recruiting team posts a job, reviews applicants and schedules an interview") and record it in your demo environment. Share the link in your follow-up email.
Internal updates and QA #
Product and engineering teams use agent-directed demos to show work in progress in standups or pull requests: "record what this branch changes on localhost:3000". A video of the feature working is a quick, reliable artifact for reviewers and for the QA record.
Choosing between the web app and MCP #
- Web app: paste a URL, and DemoReady's own AI explores, scripts and performs the demo. Best for marketing, sales and support teams, and for public or staging URLs. From $4 per demo.
- MCP: your AI coding agent directs the demo. Best for developers, and the only way to record an app on localhost. From $4.99/month for 10 demos.
